A sneeze is famous for causing annular tears and annular tears can occasionally be incapacitating for 2-3 days. I have some patients who grab onto a counter to brace themselves when they feel a sneeze coming on.

So annular tears are self curable?
And does they heal in 3 days?

Annular tears do not heal as there is no blood supply to the disc. However, the inflammation that causes the initial pain subsides which then reduces the patient’s pain response. The body “adjusts” to the tear and hopefully, this tear never causes pain again.

Hi doc got the mri report

Moderate degenerative disc disease at L5/S1 with mild broad-based disc bulging and moderate right para central and lateral recess herniation with high-intensity zone abutting and posteriorly displacing the emerging right S1 root, likely the cause of symptoms.

    Disc has reherinated i guess…
But not that pain which i was having before operation…in this case operation is the only thing???

Surgery for disc herniation depends upon multiple factors. See the section https://neckandback.com/treatments/when-to-have-surgery/ to understand when surgery is indicated. Injections and PT can be helpful in a percentage of patients. Without motor weakness, surgery depends upon pain level, activity restriction and occupational impairment.
