I saw a, different surgeon yesterday that look at the images. He said the fragment in the canal is,huge and on the nerves but if my pain is,not bad and I’m ok it can be monitored. Up to me.

Also said he does not go by the size of object on MRI but based on how I feel right now and not what if or what may or may not happen later. Said be saw many in similar situations. Said My pain level may remain the same, who knows. The,stated to the nerves may learn to adapt like they are now regardless of the huge fragment on them.

I plan to just get the fragment removed since cost will be 0.

After this year if I have problems cost will be in the thousands

Again, you understand your options. Removing the fragment is a good option based upon the reported size of the fragment. You can however leave it as long as your symptoms are minimal.

I understand, I’m in a really tough spot. Either option may result in bad results no matter what choice I make. I sure wish nothing was in that spinal canal even with pain at a minimum.

I think that having the surgery now is the right move. I suspect lll have to do it anyways even if you wait…may as well have it done while there is no cost impact in 2017.

But if I herinated a again I’d have to possibly have a fusion
