thankyou. this is an only report I have:

1- l3 and l4 vertebra showing bilateral laminectomy

2- l3 and l4 bilateral transpedicular fixation device (screw) are noted causing mri artifact.

3- there is anterior epidural hyper signal lesion at l1 l2 , l2 l3, l3 l4 level mostly in keeping with post op dural ectasia.

4- spinal canal caliber is normal.

5- Disc spaces have normal shape and signal intensity.

6- part of spinal cord is visualized and conus medullaris has normal shapes and signal intensity.

7- Nueral of foraminal, thecal sac and nerve roots have normal shape and signal intensity

You have had a pedicle screw fusion of L3-4 with a laminectomy. There is no comment of fusion status, no comment of screw positioning or adequacy of the decompression. “Hyper signal lesion” of the anterior dura is very uncommon after surgery. Suspicion of bleeding, infection or other problems have to be considered as the surgeon only operated at L3-4 so the other levels should have been untouched. Does this dural ectasia cause compression of the neural elements? Did this scan include gadolinium?

Does the dura “light up” with gadolinium (high signal on T1 images)?
