As Voltaire stated “The purpose of the doctor is to entertain the patient while nature affects the cure”. Patience.

Today was day 1 of PT. Theropist said afterwards,

stick to your walking and add that hamstring stretch we worked on today for now

I want to see how you tolerate the DBC equipment before we do too much more

    Good morning,

I know we talked regarding the opposite leg and I agree to give things time with the on and off burning. Should this be the same with the big toe on that opposite leg also. Seems like it is always has that numb swollen feeling like sandpaper on the bottom whenever I am up walking no matter what time of the day it is. It does not cause pain but it is constant and bothersome.

Is there any reason for concern for this?

    Thanks!

The big toe is not swollen, just feels like it is.

The feeling of being swollen can originate from nerve conduction block. This is just like the injection in your mouth from the dentist’s office. When he or she “numbs” your jaw, the jaw feels swollen even though you know it is still “normal” and hasn’t changed.

Try to ignore this feeling while you are in rehab.

How long does this typically last?
