This is a large fragment in your canal causing root compression. If you have minimal pain and you are not impaired, you could try to live with it. You could try an injection also. However, the wording of this report notes a large fragment that fills a substantial portion of the canal. More likely than not, you will need to have this removed. I look at individual films as a charged service with a “long distance consultation” but provide services here on the forum for free.

What is your fee too look at films?

ALSO if I choose to do nothing for now and get an injection and there is something large in cancel does leaving it there can cause consolidation or put health in danger ever if I am in minimum pain?

    Thank you for your time.

My own surgeon who I met don’t take the time or tell me this. All be says is that I have a huge disk herination and day my options are live with it, therapy, injection, disectonmy or fusion to remove entire disk. He reviewed films also from disk.

The chance of a recurrent disc herniation is about 10%. It is possible that this fragment was not recognized and left after the initial surgery but that is unlikely. Another microdisc surgery still has a 10% chance of recurrence. The fusion will prevent further herniations but takes 6 months and not 6 weeks of recovery.

The cost of a full phone consultation where I review all your information, all forms, filled out papers, images and spend about 20-30 minutes on the phone taking your history and discussing the problems and solutions with you is $500.00.
