    Dear Dr Corenman,
Many thanks for your reply. I read the IDR topic and found it very informative. It certainly strikes a chord with me. I have mostly been walking-an hour a day and stationary biking every second day. I have been doing water aerobic classes and have noticed my pain intensifies after these. I went to bed about four hours after the class and the pain in my hips just ignited and I had two hours of it before I could sleep. I tend to flare my sciatica too.
I am trying to stay active but is this doing more harm than good?.
Also from what I read about foraminal stenosis people get this age 50-60 years, I’m 35 and wondering if this is just going to get worse or can it settle?.
Should I see a specialist about this and if so should it be orthopaedics or neurosurgery?.
I don’t have any medications sorted yet.
    I sincerely appreciate your advice.

Thank you Sir for your advice. My PCP keeps telling me it is a muscle spasm but I have had several of these and this is different. Does disc dessication mean the disc has dried out but there is still some material there so the bone is not rubbing off bone.

Thank you Dr Coreman for your help. I have had an MRI of the sacroiliac joints as my PT thinks this is the area of inflammation. This came back normal but I did not have the pain at the time. The hip bursitis is an added “bonus” at the moment. I have to investigate this so I can get a comfortable night’s sleep. Shame you are on the wrong side of the atlantic ocean for me!.

    Dear Dr Corenman,
Thank you so much for giving your time and knowledge and making it so acessible. It means a lot to be able to find out more about this condition. My kyphosis was classed as mild on MRI with degeneration throughout the thoracic spine. The rib pain seemed to be a precursor to very intense pain which has developed around a vertebrae in my midback.More trips to my PT!.Thanks again.

in reply to: ?C8-T1 herniation #7609

As an update I had a cervical MRI and it was reported normal save a prominent lordosis. It took over a week for the pain meds to begin to work and physiotherpy helped somewhat.I find if I sit for too long or if the area gets cold I start to get numbness down my left arm and pain in the vertebrae at the cervico-thoracic junction. Why have I had such pain with no disc herniation and why is it so difficult to alleviate?.Tahnk You.
