    Hi,
I have previous scheuermann’s disease and have degeneration through the thoracic and lumbar spine.I have had ongoing pain at c8-T1 for months.Through PT I had been ableto join a gym and was enjoying water aerobic sessions. After one of these I noticed my hand became numb on the outer edge at the little finger.I also had a trapped nerve in my shoulder and the pain was runnig down my arm.The numbness lasted two days and then it became intermittent.I went to my PCP who said the area was swollen. She is arranging an MRI but in the meantime has put me on anti-inflammatorie.While these have helped the numbness going down my arm it has made the pain around the vertebrae worse. What is going on?.I’m only in my early thirties and have two herniated lumbar discs and three protruding discs in my thoracic spine already.Thank YOu.

As an update I had a cervical MRI and it was reported normal save a prominent lordosis. It took over a week for the pain meds to begin to work and physiotherpy helped somewhat.I find if I sit for too long or if the area gets cold I start to get numbness down my left arm and pain in the vertebrae at the cervico-thoracic junction. Why have I had such pain with no disc herniation and why is it so difficult to alleviate?.Tahnk You.
