Chiropractic is generally thought to be high velocity low amplitude manipulation of the spine by a Doctor of Chiropractic. A Chiropractor is generally much more than that, using manipulation along with therapy, education, ergonomics, modalities and nutrition. Generally, chiropractic treatment is very effective for management of spinal pain. Nerve pain may be improved by this form of treatment but manipulation of a painful nerve may aggravate it.
