It is very common to have “red and white” marrow changes in the bone marrow while we age. Normally the radiologist will be able to differentiate “normal changing marrow” from pathological marrow changes but this one wanted to hedge his bets. See if you can get a more solid reading from him or one of his colleagues. If not, ask the physician ordering the tests if he or she can give a better reading (or get the necessary lab tests).
