You mean higher risk if I choose to leave disk fragment in the spinal canal?

Also, he said he did not remove that bulge when I adk.

You spoke of symptoms . I still get more frequent burning at tines on right leg. Some discomfort on left and both feet around big toe get numb like feeling.

    But nothing horrible.

I would not even consider surgury with my pain level small if it were not for the fragment being in the spinal canal

Again, you have indications for surgery but you don’t have to have surgery with your symptoms the way they are. You can be monitored without surgery. It is really your call.

When you say I can be monitored without surgury, monitored what way and how often?

You are educated as to the onset of symptoms of cauda equina syndrome and radiculopathy of L4, L5 and S1 nerves and you monitor yourself. If you develop progressive symptoms, you immediately see this surgeon or go to the ER. Once every 6 month to one year, you have a new examination and MRI.
