    Dr. Corenman
Please review what my MRI states. I am at my wits end and this report sounds like much of nothing to me. Am I right? I can’t have this quality of life anymore. My head feels 50 Pds of pressure on my neck and my neck always hurts also I have this jolting sensation when rubbing across my neck/shoulder and I feel something rolling around under my skin. Please tell me what you think.

    C3-c4 minimal central disc protrusion

C4-5-very minimal disc buldge, results in mild narrowing of ventral csf space

C5-6-mild posterior osteophytic ridging and left greater then right unconvertabral hypertrophy yields mild narrowing of the ventral csf space and mild left neural foraminal stenosis. Right neural foramin is preserved.

    C6-7 minimal buldging disc.

    Impression:MRI demonstrates multilevel disc desiccation

At c5-6- mild left foraminal stenosis and minimal narrowing of the ventral csf space secondary to osteophyitic ridging and unconvertabral hypertrophy.

**lately my spine has been tender to the touch. Please and thanks in advance:(

You have neck pain and “pressure” on your neck. Neck pain can be caused by discs, facets, occasionally nerves and alignment problems (instability).

The MRI demonstrates degenerative changes of the discs. Sometimes, degenerative facet disorders are present on the MRI but not appreciated by the radiologist. X-rays with flexion/extension views can be helpful to add diagnostic information to the MRI images.

You need a good PM&R or spine doctor to diagnose the cause of your pain and undertake appropriate treatment.

PM&R is Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. It is a residency program that is about 25 year old and many PM&R docs specialize in spine rehab. Make sure you pick one with experience and a focus in spine.
