    Hello Dr. Corenman,

I have seen your videos and topics and thank you for further educating me on my condition. I recently herniated both L4-L5 Disc and L5-S1 on Nov 22 2014 .Back when I was 15 I first herniated the S1 and managed to make it till recently with 2 selective nerve root block epidurals. I lived with back pain so long I almost lost track about my herniation and lifted to heavy to cause my recent herniations. I am coming tomorrow to the Steadman Clinic in Edwards to see if a more conservative approach with a injection may help with Dr. Karli. They informed me Dr. Karli would consult you on my MRI and current condition. Recently I have been keeping on on Mackenzie stretches which have sent some centralized pain back to the lumbar. The ankle nerve pain is still there along with Sciatic and Peroneal nerve pain. I can walk and go most days without medication despite the MRI showing 2 large herniations. Is this a sign on the herniation trying to move back in and heal.

Thank You and I hope to see you soon for your help.

Herniations unfortunately do not “move back in” but these herniation can shrink down over time, especially with an epidural steroid injection. The nerve also can adapt to compression somewhat which aids in symptom reduction.

Dr. Karli is a good doc so you will be in good hands.
