Most recent MRI about 1 year ago showed fusion. Also continued to show some osteophytes and facet joint hypertrophy and arthrosis, foramenal stenosis , but NS said nothing that he would operate on because of pain. He said “structurally fine now since last surgery . He says he does not do surgery due to pain. Remember I did get treated for mycoplasma for 9 months. Lyme was never ruled out. Think my pm gets frustrated because his procedures have been unsuccessful . How can I send u a photo of my last X-rays done at same time of MRI . I will need to look for MRI in meantime if u need to see it . Do u think I should pursue the Lyme thing ?

BTW, fatigue and 24/7 headaches with nausea got about 50 percent better with antibiotic therapy.

MRI can demonstrate fusion but it is a generally poor tool to indicate fusion so I would be suspect regarding that assessment. You state the MRI shows “some osteophytes and facet joint hypertrophy and arthrosis, foramen stenosis”. Where-at the prior fusion site or above/below? I am unclear why your surgeon stated he “says he does not do surgery due to pain”. Why did you have the neck surgery in the first place?

I will only review images through a long-distance consult (for a fee) but will be happy to review image reports (through the radiologist’s eyes) here for free.

I am unclear how mycoplasma infection will cause significant joint pain (there are very few reports in the literature) but maybe antibiotic treatment for Lyme disease helped with the fatigue and headaches.

    Hi Calmarjori,
It is obvious that you have tried almost all the possible treatments. There is an alternative treatment available for your problem. You can make use of marijuana to find relief.
I suffered from osteoarthritis pain and I underwent treatment for osteoarthritis from Toronto. It was really effective.
Studies have shown medical marijuana has been able to increase the activity of the cannabinoid receptor CB2 which helps to reverse the effects of inflammation and therefore reduce the pain and improving movement. The natural compounds in medical marijuana make it a wonderful part of an overall OA treatment while helping downsize the potential for harmful side effects.

I can’t endorse marijuana for pain relief but have had an occasional patient note some relief with CBD. I have also had patients really dislike this drug so be careful.

I have researched it briefly. However, I live in Alabama and I’m sure the state board of nursing wouldn’t be to happy about that! Lol . Thanks, however for the information. Hey, you never know if I can’t find relief any other way…
Dr C . The only reason I wanted to be able to send u a picture of the X-ray is beCause I thought it could answer ur questions better than me trying to explain Where osteophytes were exactly and the pic of the fusion. Thanks so much .
