in reply to: Radio frequency Ablation/pain flare up #34722
Dr Corenman
I have an update. Pain is very bad in mornings. Very localized along right lower side near L/5 S1 but more lateral. Sometimes I am limping. Deep throbbing very painful trying to extend my back and lay prone. I keep pin pointing it right above PSIS. I have pretty severe groin pain as well.
Surgeon thought maybe SI related. They did an SI joint injection today. New pain doc from my surgeons practice recommended this pain doc. I still feel a lot of pain it seems like maybe it was facet related. I know it can take time for injection to work. Thank you.
in reply to: Radio frequency Ablation/pain flare up #34682MRI report. L5/S1 Desiccated disc without significant prolapse. 6×10 mm area of increased T2 signal along the left posterior margin of the l5 s1 extending into the left lateral recess. No additional evidence of herniated lumbar disc or of lumbar central stenosis
Status post l5 S1 micro Lami And post surgical edema on paraspinal tissues
All of my pain seems to be facetogenic where I put my thumb in lower back. I have a hard time extending and get relief with flex ion. Hard to lie down pain can get bad and then I feel my lower back freeze. Please tell me this will subside over time or about a facet injection or anything else that will help. Thank you so much for you time.
in reply to: Recent surgery #34415The MRI is scheduled this week. Wednesday. Made sure it was 3T. Can you tell more about the selective nerve block? I am seeing a pain back MD specialist next week. Surgeon says my MRI will just show scar tissue. He thinks it healing. Do you think I will be able to light work out in 3-4 weeks? Build back up from there?
in reply to: Recent surgery #34389Yes at times it still can get up to 7/10 not as intense before surgery Most times I can walk fine and it seems more dull leg pain. 3-4/10. Seems with excessive posterior pelvic tilt the leg symptoms Reappear. Just started PT this week. Do you think I did something serious and I will still be able to recover with just a set back and good PT? Will an epidural be a good option and do you see it helping people with post surgical pain like this? I had two epidurals back in April before surgery. I am concerned but hopeful to get more insight. Thank you.
in reply to: Recent surgery #34381Dr Corenman, Thank you for the response. Okay. I’m about 8-9 post op. Just started PT. And was given course of oral steroid this week.
I still have some bad episodes of leg pain. Just started work. I’m an OT but not with involved patients. But I drive a lot. It can get up to 7/10 some days. Mostly at first upon waking up and when I get into bed. I’m not limping as before the surgery. I’m just worried something happened and doing too much PT. The doc said ease into everything and nerve is still healing I am not sure if another MRI would help. If I irritated like that will it just like prolong the healing time? And how long you think! Could I expect a 3-6 month recovery to fee less leg pain?
in reply to: Recent surgery #34303Do they recommend scar tissue removal procedures after surgeries like this? Do you think it’s more scar tissue and I can recover gradually over the next 3 weeks?
