THANk you so much for having a look at my scan!

WHat is the outlook after having steroid treatment. Should I be doing anything else while doing this? I am currently doing a series of stretches and excercises given to me by a physio. Should I carry on doing these or should I seek some more help?

Are steroids likely to help/ be effective? I am only 21 so I can’t imagine not being able to recover from this. Would it be worth taking some serious time off work to fully recover and is there anything I can do to ensure a more effective recovery?

Thanks and sorry for all the questions.

    Hello,

The pain is pretty much all leg and on the side of the previous disc bulge.
The pain is localised in the area below the glutes of the left leg and can sometimes spread over to the right and down the left leg.

I am worried my hamstring stretching is aggravating it as I started PT 2 weeks ago and the pain started at a similar time and is not getting better.

Also there is no pain when lying down or sleeping but when i stand up in the morning or after lying down I can feel the blood rushing to the site of pain and it kind of increases for a few seconds then relaxes.

Can you suggest any measures I could take to help improve it? Should I ask for time off? And should I be icing?

    Thanks for your reply,

    Alex

    More information:

Pain is most apparent after sitting and then just after standing up. Feels best when walking and feels fine when lying down. A few seconds after standing up the pain sometimes intensifies then stops.

The pain also radiate around the buttock and part of the thigh but not very intense. The intense pain is at the join between buttock and thigh and is very specific. I would say pain is about a 5/6 out of 10. And gets worse as the day goes on.

    Thanks again
