    Hi Dr. Corenman,

    That was really helpful!

I will go for the blood tests you suggested to rule out the infection.

I actually wanted to know that if a patient ever suffers from a disc protrusion, does this condition get a permanent solution after any surgery or is it keep on reoccurring throughout life with few months break of relief from pain after every operation or treatment. I am 32 and have to be active atleast for next 10-15 years to fulfil family needs as the only earning member.

Thanks a lot again for being there!

    Hello Dr. Corenman,

    Thanks for the quick reply!

I have not suffered from Fever after the operation so not sure if this is infection, My surgeon always asked if I am having fever to rule out if the wound was draining because of infection. One more thing I want to mention is that I never feel pain in the back and dont feel pain in the wound or scar now days.

Now as you said symptoms may improve with epidural shot, would it be temporary? would I require another Microdiscectomy or any next level treatment.

Thanks a lot for the helpful guidance!

    Hi Dr. Corenman,

    Hope you are doing well!

This is the report of the latest MRI: midline postoperative defect in the posterior elements at L4 vertebral level with mild fluid seen within the operative tract, diffuse posterior subcutaneous edema around the surgical site and diffuse myofascial edema is seen in the posterior para vertebral muscles.
diffuse disc bulge with postero-central annular tear and disc protrusion at L4-L5 level causing moderate to marked narrowing of bilateral lateral recesses and mild narrowing of bilateral neural foramina with impingement of bilateral traversing L5 nerve roots.

My Surgeon checked the report and suggested me to have the Epidural shot in the coming week and said it will get resolved with the shot. Please advise me on this as well.

    Thanks in advance
    Abhishek

    Hi Dr. Corenman,

    Hope you are doing well!

I am really sorry to not update you with the mri results, I actually rejoined office from 2nd of jan and was feeling much better but the fluid discharge continued for several days and my surgeon had to reopen the surgical site little bit to get the fluid drained until the wound closed from inside by itself and after that I again started feeling leg pain .

I had the mri results today and sharing with you.

I am not able to attach the report in this forum, can I have your email Id so i can share it via email.

Will look forward to hear from you.
