    Dear Dr.Corenman,

Recently I got an occipital nerve block done to diagnose whether the condition that I have (mentioned in this thread) is Occipital Neuralgia or not. Well, the outcome of the occipital nerve block wasn’t too good. I mean it hardly made a difference to the daily constant mild headaches I experience. You had mentioned “The facets at C2-3 and C3-4 can cause irritation to the greater and lesser occipital nerves”. Is the occipital nerve injection the same as Facet Blocks? Can you please advice if I should get some other diagnostic injection done? I feel the condition I have is cervogenic headache as usually the discomfort starts with my neck and then travel upwards and I expereince a dull/mild headache every day (since 2 years).

    Hi Hutchinson,

I read your post regarding the problems you have been having with your legs. I have straightening of cervical spine problem that I have been dealing with for the past 9 months. I am 31 years old just like yourself with good head. It all started last year when I was regular at the gym and had been on Accutane for 4 months. Im not sure but I feel Isotretinoin (accutane) had something to do with it, although I haven’t found anything on the internet suggesting Accutane might have caused it but there are many other horror stories of people who have had bad experience being on accutane.

How long were you on Accutane and did it cause you any major long lasting side effects? I have had constant neck stiffness and mild headache for 9 months now.

How is your leg now? DId you get it operated?

    Hope your doing better.

    Dear Dr.Corenman,

I got another MRI of C-Spine and L-Spine with contrast done few days ago. The last MRI of C-Spine I did was in February 2012 which said “Straightening of Cervical Spine along with mild right lateral disc bulge at C4/C5 level”.

However, my most recent MRI states: “Apart from straightening of cervical and lumbar spine no additional abnormality noted on his MRI examination”

I developed this problem back in November 2011 where I used to get daily headaches, but over a period of time, the headaches got better. I still get neck stiffness and constant mild headache every day.

Would you be kind enough to reply the following:
    – Are the constant mild headaches because of my neck stiffness/constant discomfort?
    – How did my disc bulge automatically disappear? As in is my neck getting better?
    – Is it possible for straightening of cervical to resolve? It’s been 9 months that I’ve had this condition. I exercise regularly (treadmill and neck exercises only).
    – What possible procedure would you recommend I should discuss with doctors here considering I have had this problem for 9 months and have been on pain killers.

    Thanks a lot.

    Dear Dr. Corenman,

I live in a different country (Pakistan) but will be travelling to the US for this procedure. I will be paying for all costs myself. Could you please give me contact details (phone number, email address) where I can get details of the total cost for this procedure.

    many thanks,
    Omer

    Dear Dr. Corenman,

I could not find the section on “pain diary”. Could you please guide me as to where it is located on your website.

Also, if you could please respond to my previous query on the cost, side effects etc associated with the procedure you had mentioned.

    Many thanks,
    Omer
