I have had a progression of weakness then fasciculations and pain in my calves, some fasciculations is upper legs. EMG was negative for ALS but nerve root compression in L4. Sometimes the nerve pain in my calves is an 9 out of 10. I even went to the ER once
I noticed the weakness in the spring but was taking Medication for anxiety so thought that was to blame

do experience low back pain and numbness in my glutes and quads from time to time and lower legs. Still waiting to consult with surgery and MR of lower back.

I’m surprised that you have had an EMG of your lower extremities before am MRI of your lower back. That would be an important next step.
