    Dear Dr Corenman

I was diagnosed with Arachnoiditis in 2005, but have suffered with bowel damage, muscle cramps since 2 epidurals in 1999 to treat a L4/5 prolapsed disc. The cramps affect my whole body including head and facial muscles. The muscles in my chest, shoulders neck and face have stiffened up and movement just brings on another attack of cramps. Can you please look at two MRI scans which were taken a couple of years ago.

    Many thanks H

PS Have sent images by e-mail can’t get them to load on Forum

Arachnoiditis occurs in the lumbar spine for the most part. This will cause leg symptoms and possibly bowel and bladder dysfunction. Neck pain and facial muscle stiffness are not part of the syndrome.

Cramping and muscle stiffness can be caused by Parkinson’s disorder among other pathologies.

I do look at MRI scans for free (at this point) and you are welcome to call the office and send them in. The forum does not allow uploading of MRI images for security reasons (viruses).
