I am suppose to have surgery May 5th on my neck. Cervical disc surgery. I have a herniated disc that couldn’t b fixed on its own or with injections. I wanting to know if my herniated discs can cause lumps n my left arm too? I have pain, and numbness going down my left arm and I am told that has to do with my herniated discs. Please let me know ASAP!!! Thank you!!!

Herniated discs in the neck will not cause “lumps” in the arms. However, a pinched nerve root can cause muscle spasms which could be interpreted as “lumps”.

The pain and numbness is most likely from the nerve root compression. See the section “cervical radiculopathy” on this website to understand this disorder.
