    Hello again,
So I did end up reherniating again.. after my 1st Microdiscectomy. I had revision MD a few days ago, Feb 15th. This herniation was worse than the 1st. In your opinion have you found that a revision surgery ends up working better than the Original? The surgeon said that he really cleaned out a lot around the nerve to make sure it was absolutely completely free. And removed a lot of scar tissue.

I have had a few of the burning nerve pains but not like I had before surgery or anywhere near that. I know that the doctor said it would be normal, I’m just hoping that’s the case!! Because of course I panic!

Is it OK if I take 25 mg of tramadol if I have taken a norco? The tramadol addresses the nerve pain better where the norco helps the incision pain.

    Thank you so much !
    Linda

If you are only days to weeks out from revision microdisc, your pain medication seems to be acceptable. Revision surgery can be technically demanding but quite gratifying as there might be even less compression the second time around.

    Thank you…
In your opinion, do you feel a revision md can be more successful with less chance of reherniation than an original MD?

A redo microdiscectomy has the same chance of reherniation as the original herniation does. The success rate should be the same for reoperation as the original.
