I am almost 7 months post L5 S1 fusion with decompression and I am still experiencing the following symptoms – dull ache primarily in thigh but can experience through entire leg. Same type of dull ache in lower back, with a feeling of weak legs (primarily right) and occasional knee buckling. I also have pain that sometimes intense and short in duration in my leg and ankles at times. Oh, also I was just diagnosed with a possible neuroma in my right foot as well, which I received a shot for and have experienced some relief. I like my ortho and everything that he said would happen has and maybe I am being overly sensitive but he is insisting that this is all part of recovery. But some of these symptoms are very similar to what I kind a experienced prior to surgery. At this point I have no back pain other than the dull ache at the base and tailbone region and I have nothing radiating down either leg. But the similar symptoms prior and post surgery is what has me concerned. Your thoughts and opinions are welcomed.
I need to know specific symptoms prior to surgery and current symptoms. Also, what was exactly done and when. See https://neckandback.com/conditions/how-to-describe-your-history-and-symptoms-of-neck-shoulder-and-arm-pain/ to accurately describe symptoms.
