    Hi dr corenman my name is mohsin i have had back pain for almost two years naow . Ive had two complete set of mris .the first mri i had was the conventional one where you lie down .the results for the lumbar spine were as follows . L4-l5 and l5 s1 disc bulges and minimal scoliosis of lumbar area convex to the right . Cervical reads c6 c7 diffuse bulges and straightening of the cervical lordosis is present probably secondary to muscle strain or spasm . The description of my pain In the lumbar area if very severe i cant bend or stoop .it radiates into both legs and calfs pain and tenderness around the si joints and sharp stabbing pain around the hips. it occasioanaly burns . My question is whether this heals on its own or does it take a practical approach . I dont want surgery yet. What is the best course of tratment for this . The cerival area has alit of muscle spasms pain goes into bith shoulders abd arms . Please shed some light

    The workup for the causes of lower back pain involves much more than an MRI review. A complete history and physical examination needs to be completed. A complete review of all images including motion X-rays needs to be performed. A workup with diagnostic testing may be needed. Questions can be answered after a diagnosis is made.
