    I’m currently waiting on a appointment following mri results. Can you please help me to understand the results and advise if this is serious and likely treatments. I’m 35 yo female in a lot of pain between my shoulder blades and recently in shoulders arms and fingers. Doctor has prescribed dihydrocodine which is doing nothing

    Coronal alignment is normal

    There is loss of normal cervical lordosis

    There is displaced narrowing at all levels with, some prominent posterior bulges. Spinal canal is narrowed with some pinching of the cord consisrant with spinal stenosis.

    Axial scan have been performed from c4. At c4-c5 level, there is disc oestophyte prominence in contact with, an flattening the left side of the cord. There are similar but more marked changes at c5-c6 whwre gjeeeis quite tight central spinal stenosis and left sided foraminal narrowing

    There is also, central, spinal, stenosis at c6-c7 with modest foraminal narrowing. There is only minor disc bulge at c7-t1.

    Spinal cord molontains a normal signal throughout.

    Conclusion – the spinal canal is developmentally quite narrow. There are disc bulges with central, spinal stenosis at c4-c5 c5-c6 and c6-c7.

    You have degenerative disc disease which can cause neck pain and shoulder pain. You have nerve root compression due to foraminal stenosis which can cause shoulder and arm pain down to the hand. You have canal stenosis (narrowing) which can cause myelopathy.
