I saw a pain management doctor for the first time and he thinks I may have a pinched nerve in my neck. He wants me to have an MRI of my neck, and after that a cervical transforaminal epidural steroid injection. I don’t have any neck pain. My pain is in both hands; thumb, index, and middle fingers. The pain is also in my right forearm. My neurologist diagnosed me with atypical Parsonage Turner Syndrome a year and a half ago. Next month will be two years since I experienced severe right shoulder pain. The pain began in my left hand 2 weeks after I had ACDF C6/C7 surgery. The surgery didn’t help at all. All MRIs after my surgery have shown no problems with my neck or spine.
Can a person have a pinched cervical nerve and not have neck pain? I don’t want to do things that aren’t necessary. Thank you!
