    Dr. Corenman

Thanks for all the help. The more I have researched this the more I think that it is the right direction for me to go. I have a few more questions though, I assume you do the surgery right at your facility in Denver? Does insurance generally cover it? If not how much does it cost?

    Thanks

Generally, insurance will cover the procedure. All the procedures are performed in Vail, Colorado.

    Hi Daniel –

I was wondering how your bilateral pars fracture was diagnosed? Did it show up on MRI or just CT scan? Has it progressed over time in terms of pain and loss of mobility?

    Cheers,

    Richard

About 3.5 years ago I started having back pain. After a few months we did a CT scan and found the fractures. I have not lost mobility and the pain has not gotten worse over time. I believe that I have kept it in check with stretching and core strengthening, but I think I also reinjured it a few months ago (I have been having more pain) which is why I believe that I should have surgery.

Surgery has some strict restrictions at this point that include no slip, a healthy disc and a gap of less than 3.5mm. If you fit that criteria, you could be a candidate for a pars repair.

I believe that all of those apply to me
