I was rear-ended in a car accident a year ago and am still in constant neck and back pain, some days are worse then others. I went to 8 months of PT, they said a reached a plateau. My MRI’s said there was broad disc herniation in C5-6, disc bulge in L4-5 and L2-3 and in L3-4 more disc bulge with more focal left formaninal disc protrusion and mild let facet arthopathy. To drive I must physically turn my buddy when making a left turn. Is this serious? Will this worsen? Is this permanent? Is there a course of treatment that can improve the pain? Had I not been in the accident, would these not have happened? any insight would be helpful.

It seems that you need a consultation with a good spine surgeon. Your symptoms could be generated by any number of structural problems noted on your MRI. There are any number of potential treatments depending upon the discovery of your pain generators.
