    Good afternoon!
I had a 3 level C4-C7 ACDF in March. The morning of my surgery, my doctor told me that I also had a herniation on C3-C4 but did not want to do a 4 level fusion that day. I did beautifully for 8 weeks post surgery however now I’m struggling with severe occipital headaches, pain in my neck and down my triceps. I’m in physical therapy and have had massage done twice as well. Both of these things have provided little to no relief. Could the c3-c4 be more impacted than we thought?

C2-3 (and C2-3) can cause all the symptoms you describe except for triceps pain (generally from the C7 or C8 nerve roots). A careful look at the C3-4 disc or the C2-4 facets should be considered.
