    Thanks! What if you have an emergency surgery with a patient on Coumadin? What is the process?

    If there is a patient who is on Coumadin and needs emergency surgery, the patient can be given blood products that reduce the bleeding potential if the hospital has those products. If the surgery is emergent, the surgeon needs to be prepared for significant bleeding and the risk of surgery increases.
