Hoping to ask a general question on disc healing.
I injured my C5/C6 disc in the gym 18-months ago. Rested up during covid. everything felt great. Back to the gym now and there is still pain the disc area. I had another MRI and the disc material is still shown protruding. Does that mean it will never heal by itself and I should look into surgery?
Does the body have a mechanism to remove the disc material once it has herniated?
I have no numbness, but the pain when lifting weights concerns me. Never had any issues prior to when it “popped” during an overhead press that may have not had the best form (went a little too heavy).
