Hi there, I have a few questions about my current situation. I have been diagnosed with cervical spinal stenosis from c-5-7 with disc herniation at this level also. I have left arm pain that is searing and very painful. It’s nauseating its that painful. I have had intermittent numbness of the left hand that comes and goes but most recently have had numbness of my left foot that has been gradually worsening over the past week.

I am scheduled to see my neurosurgeon in october but am worried that I should either make an appointment for sooner or go to the ER. When is it considered emergent? And how long before foot drop takes place?

You obviously have cervical radiculopathy (pinched nerve in the neck). Spinal stenosis in the cervical spine can lead to myelopathy (see https://neckandback.com/conditions/cervical-central-stenosis-and-myelopathy/). You also might have motor weakness in your upper extremity which would mean that the timeline is shorter to see a surgeon. I would call this surgeons office to request an earlier appointment. Do not worry about foot drop as this would be an extremely rare presentation of myelopathy.
