C4-5: There is a minimal posterior disc bulge. There is no
significant central canal stenosis or left foraminal narrowing. Mild
right foraminal narrowing secondary to uncovertebral hypertrophy.C5-6: A posterior disc protrusion moderately to severely narrows the
spinal canal to 7 mm AP with effacement of the anterior and posterior
CSF spaces and slight indentation of the ventral cord. No significant
foraminal narrowing. So I am having to wait to see a Neurosurgeon but can’t get in tell 4/25 but I am curious what does my MRI results mean? Also would this be something that had to have surgery? I am having pain and numbness/and weakness in my left arm I can’t even hold my neice that is only 8 months because it hurts too much and my arm is so weak. Also if I try to put my chin to my chest it sends shooting pain so everyone I look down I get shooting pain and weakness feeling. That so much for taking the time to answer my questions.
It sounds like you have cord draping across this C6-7 disc herniation. The cord can get compressed with extension (bending backwards) if the canal is narrowed but with a larger disc herniation (“A posterior disc protrusion moderately to severely narrows the spinal canal to 7 mm AP”), the cord is draped across this herniation and stretched-causing pain.
Without seeing the images, I cannot say for sure what is needed but you might consider trying an epidural steroid injection to reduce inflammation and relieve pain. (https://neckandback.com/treatments/epidural-injections-and-selective-nerve-root-blocks-diagnostic-and-therapeutic-neck/).
