I just had a Cervical Mri w/o contrast done and the Impression Read as follows.
1. Multilevel degenerative disc disease, uncovertebral arthropathy, and facet arthropathy most pronounced c5-c6 and c6-c7.
2. Mild Central canal stenosis and moderate bilateral foraminal stenosis left greater than right c5-c6.
3. mild central canal stenosis, mild right foraminal stenosis, and moderate left foraminal stenosis c6-c7.4. No MR evidence of intrinsic cervical spinal abnormality I’m kind of at a loss as to what this means.
I also had a Lumbar Mri the same day with the results as follows
Impression
1. L5-S1 disc disease with a large central disc extrusion and mild facet disease causing sever central stenosis and compression of the S1 roots within the canal as well as mild bilateral neural foraminal narrowing.
2. L4-L5 disc disease with a small central protrusion and mild facet disease, level of congenitally small canal causing moderate central stenosis and mild inferior neural foraminal narrowing.Just been in allot of pain and wondering in Common terms what this ment. I’m a 41 year old female. You have to specifically describe your symptoms as MRIs do not live in a vacuum.
See the section https://neckandback.com/conditions/how-to-describe-your-history-and-symptoms-of-neck-shoulder-and-arm-pain/ to understand how to describe symptoms.

Im having allot of pain in the right hip area and lower sacrum area. There are sharp pains radiating down both legs in to my ankles and feet. Sometimes the bottom of my heels feel asleep when I’m walking. There are times my lower back goes completely out to where i can walk. I have been having urinary problems. The Dr I seen for Consultation said i needed surgery and I’m just scared.
You have central stenosis of L5-S1 (severe) and L4-5 (moderate). See https://neckandback.com/conditions/lumbar-spinal-stenosis-central-stenosis/ to understand this disorder. I would agree based upon your symptoms that you are a candidate for surgery. See laminotomy to understand the surgery- https://neckandback.com/treatments/lumbar-laminectomy-or-laminotomy/.
