    Hello Dr

I have had major spinal surgery November 2018 and then again due to a locking cap dislodging in February.

After the first surgery I noted I had 4 tiny blisters on my second toe in from little toe, these were not itchy. These didn’t go away and ended up peeling under that toe on the foot and this has not improved. The easiest way for me to describe this is like a volcano and that toe is the vent. This is still going on and one doctor told me it was due to a red blood cell being nicked during surgery. I can’t remember the name he called that but he showed me a picture and at one stage the ball of my foot did look like the picture as it had a honeycomb look to it. It is still hot and peels and occasionally I get a blister on that one toe.

Are you able to please tell me what this is called and if there is anything to remedy it.

    Kind regards

    Bronwen

I am unclear as to the cause of your blisters and now “raw feeling” you have in that toe. A radiculopathy will not cause the blisters but “shingles” will (herpes zoster) in the nerve to the toe. I think you misunderstood the surgeon as he might have “nicked” a nerve which would make more sense to your foot complaints.
