All started with a Herniated disc in 2000, diagnosed through MRI late 2001… Was ready to do whatever I needed, but before I could begin any treatments… I was determined to have a pre existing condition. This was somewhat traumatizing, and I was not healthy mentally at the time, so I was unable to navigate further with dealing with the spine issue, but I was in crippled with pain in my rear end….so I investigate Botox injections for muscle spasticity and after careful discussion with another pain doc…we injected Botox into the trigger points of my piriformis, as well as some other muscles that were in full spasm(hypertonic?). It actually worked and allowed to to regain some qualities of life, but I had zero use of my left leg….it went to sleep. I was off snow for 4 years…and after I started regain motor control of the botoxed muscles…I carefully used them so they would not go spastic. I bought a segway to maintain my balance and mindset. Made it back on snow….and was actually able to ski and even race until a car accident finished off my lowest two discs in 2008. Since then I have struggled and a definite cascade affect has reduced my quality of life.

Last fall my mother finally intervened as force me to start looking at getting treated( I was very jaded about the medical community)….and I was able to get some extremely provocative mris that every surgeon I shown has been able to easily tell me that my pain is legit because of the damage that is obvious in the scans.

I hate the meds, I have never taken a Opium basied opiate(Ultram since day 1), never had any problems with my blood work up….and I have used Medical Marijuana that is high in CBD to reduce the spasticity that still exists because the muscles have no way to cleary communicte with my head.

I instructed and coached in Vail at Gold Peak in 90-91…and am now in South Florida. My ski race buddy from college luckily landed in Aspen after years in Vail (Bill Tomcich..??)…so I still consider the Alpine world to be my home.

I know you are busy and I have already type to much, but thank you nonetheless.

Ive seen some really bad doctors down here….

and its nice to see someone who wants to help like you do.

    With Respect.

Just got an unwelcome call from the surgeon who I was considering as my lead Doctor here in Florida…and in the irony of this bad information….I must relate how I showed him your book….and he brushed it off and basically said that someone who started as a chiropractor has no ability to understand the nuances of the spine.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that I would love to have the opportunity to discuss my options with you at your earliest.

    Again, with respect.

Unfortunately in my field there are some individuals who puff up and don’t know how to deflate. You just need to find the ones who think carefully, are clear and nuanced and have lots of experience. There are many good ones out there. It is easy to see who the puffers are once you have experience with them.

You can call the office for further contact information.
