I cannot give you specific guideline regarding who to see in your area. If you want to come here, simply call the 888 number at the top of this page and talk to my office manager.

I need some help.. finding info on device failers is very hard yo find, and after reading the above I can see why the manufacturer is very quick to take back any failed products before they are known/published, also hearing that they are not removelable is new to me as i was not told this before my surgery or since… I am concerned that I also have a failing pro disc l at L5-S1, I also have a fusion at L3-L4 and a Dallas grade 5 tear in my disc at L4-L5. I have very painful poping and movement at L5-S1 from the prodiscL.. I had my surgery in June 2007 here In Florida, the surgeon office dismissed me as a client and I have no one qualified with my device to follow my case, I have to be lying down most of each day, little to say I am living in exurshating pain.. I have been in pain management since 2006 and have had everything you can think of, due to prolong use/treatments with steroids (enduced addison) I can no longer receive any pain management procedures as steroids are always given so I have no relief except pills which do not cover the pain.. medical mj in Florida is a joke ..

Can you please help me with finding someone experienced with my device in my area and any info on pro disc L failers.. mine sounds like it is farting every time I move..

When a disc fails, it can be from the interface bone/metal endplate fracture or settling, initial malplacement, wear of the polyethylene insert or facet failure. The normal “fix” is a posterior fusion to immobilize the disc as an anterior approach can be very frustrating (up to dangerous) due to adhesions of the common iliac veins to the prior adhesions from implantation.

I cannot recommend anyone in particular in your area. Find a very experienced, meticulous spine surgeon with whom you feel confident.

Thank you for the quick response, it’s so hard sometimes, I guess I will be doing more research to find someone who is knowlegable with my device.. it’s easiest sometimes to just give into the pain and despair than to find someone who understands what it is to have these issues and the amount of pain we live with.. I will be 50 in May and I have no life, I don’t date, all I have is my grandkids and 4 legged kids in my life due to my faith in a device that I believed would give me the best outcome & treatment as an active independent single mom at the age of 38..

PS If I do not find a Dr in my area would you be willing to treat me if I was to travel to Colorado?? I had planned on having a camper this year and trying to travel at my pace, to return to my favorite places and see some new places before I am no longer able to. I lived in Colorado Sprinprings (Ft Carson) in 93..

The surgeon you find does not have to have intimate knowledge of your particular device as they all have the same mechanical principles.

I would be happy to treat you if you come out here. You might first consider my “long-distance consultation” program so that we both can be prepared for an actual visit.

    Hello dr corenman and vickerst,

I have recently had a spine surgery to stabilize the disc. It was found that even though the disc is set well in the bone is had significant movement in the l5-s1 joint causing severe arthritis. It also explains the popping and clicking as the disc would move around and become pinched (only way I can explain it) in the joint and pop. They placed pins around the disc and used rods and screws to stabilize. If this doesn’t work they have a way to remove it safely. If victorst would like to contact me about this or you dr corenman id be happy to go into further details on how they remove the failed disc. From what I’ve been told a law was passed in California preventing the use of artificial discs in the lower lumbar region. I have had relief from the surgery it was on January 4th if this year. I’m very happy with the results. However it has also been extremely painful as I was warned this would surgery would aggravate the arthritis. It did.
