MMI is maximum medical improvement, a workman’s compensation term that means the treatment that has been provided has maximised your recovery.

Motor strength is rated on a 0-5 scale with 0 being absolutely no ability to contract all the way up to 5 (normal). 4/5 strength means the muscle is weak but can still function for some situations. Motor deficits have to be rated also as neurological weakness (as the result of compression or disease) or from pain inhibition.

Pain inhibition is an inability to contract the muscle fully due to pain with contraction. This may or may not be related to neurological loss.
