    Hi Dr. Corenman,

I was curious to hear if you had any thoughts about Discseel using fibrin to seal a disc. I had a microdiscectomy a couple of years ago and now have another herniation from the same disc. A rabbit hole of google searches led me to Discseel. It sounded interesting so I was curious if you had any thoughts about it and whether it’s worth it for me to continue to researching it. Thanks!

Vascular supply is generally necessary to allow healing of a defect. This is why an ACL injury will not heal as it has no blood supply. It is the same story with the annulus of the disc. No blood supply means that the torn fibers will not heal. While it sounds like a good idea, Discseel will be ineffective to repair the disc.
