My neck was hyper extended in 2011 july in an accident. Was identified with central cord syndrome and fused at c5-c6. Still have weak digits 4and 5 in both hands with pain and sensitive. What should i be expecting, any hope of relief?
Central cord syndrome is the least damaging of all the cord injuries but residual symptoms are not uncommon. It has been about three years since the injury and you probably have healed as much as is possible. The weakness will not be treatable but the pain and sensitivity can be treated. See the section under “Medications” for membrane stabilizers. This group of medications can be very helpful for your symptoms.
