Thank you so much for your input I do have an office appointment to talk about the procedure on the tenth. Would medication be a good source for pain relief in the mean time in-till the procedure is done? I’m sure it will work because the medial branch block worked so well last time that after it wore off I laid in bed just balling my eyes how I was missing the relief.

And also thanks for the input on surgery my neuro said that only a fusion would help so I might look into another neuro if the block doesn’t help.

If there is anything I can do for you please let me know. You should really be able to make a donation on this site for you help.

    Thanks again,
    Alan

Medications such as membrane stabilizers can be helpful if the side effects are tolerable. Lyrica or Neurontin comes to mind. Ask your pain physician if these are appropriate for you.

I do have a foundation called the “Steadman Phillipon Research Foundation” that I perform research through. If you want to make a donation to them in my name, that would be appreciated.

    Dr. Corenman,

Is there any other procedures that might help I just had a Facet Rhizotomy and it has been 6 days since I’ve had it and only have had a little bit of relief? Is it possible that he did not hit all the nerves?

Rhizotomies are a very technical procedure. Nonetheless, there should be about a 70% success rate if the initial diagnostic blocks were successful. If these ablations do not give you relief in six weeks, consideration should be given to a decompression as I noted before.
