    With hand contractures, you have some muscles that are intact and functioning unopposed by opposite muscles that are not functioning. This is what causes contractures. For now, you will need hand therapy and splints to help prevent contractures. In the longer term, you might need muscle transfer surgeries to run intact muscles to oppose the ones that are causing contractures.

    There are also some surgeons that can repair damaged brachial plexus injuries with nerve grafts. I do not know if this applies to you. I also do not know much about these specialists but have read some of their results.
