Good evening Doctor. I am a male aged 60 years old this year. In early 2017, I underwent surgery for Cervical C5— C6 and C6—-C7 Discectomy and Fusion in India. This treatment brought about relief to the pain I was experiencing in my left arm. This time around from June, I have been experiencing TINGLING sensations in the three fingers from the smaller one to the big one. Of late the sensations are being accompanied by a lot of pain along the back side of my right arm. WHAT could be causing this disturbing feeling ?? And WHAT could be the lasting solution if any ?? Please help. Regards. Freddie Mulenga. Lusaka. ZAMBIA.

You underwent an ACDF (decompression and fusion) of C5-7 about 2 1/2 years ago and apparently did well. Now you have “TINGLING sensations in the three fingers from the smaller one to the big one” on the left which is the dermatome of the C8 nerve root (the C7-T1 disc level). Breakdown of C7-T1 could be the cause of your new symptoms. Pain ” a lot of pain along the back side of my right arm” could also be for this level. You need a new workup including X-rays to make sure your fusions above became solid.
