With regard to my earlier post, I have a transitional vertebrae at L5,S1 and I had L4,L5 fused 22 months ago, which has been confirmed as fused.

My low back pain is coming from around my belt line, which would be level below fusion, but not far enough down to be considered SI joint on physical examination. I don’t really feel any pain at level above fusion segment. My physiatrist wants to start with SNRB medial branch blocks between fusion segment and transitional vertebrae to start.

    What are your thoughts?

Also, does it matter is transitional vertebrae is unilaterally fused or bilaterally fused as a pain source?
