    Symptoms

    Often Dizziness

    Both my hands and lags feels light weight (after lifting weight hands feels more light for few seconds)
    Causing balance problems

    Need more effort to stand

    Pain in left arm and leg ,increasing laying down.

    Sometimes These symptoms goes away for few seconds when push behind the jaw angle on left sides or streach neck.

    Mri findings

    Minimal left lateral atalanto axial subluxation

    Dens is posteriorly pointed with curved posterior surface.however no evidence of compression over spinal canal or cord.

    Suspecious small illdefined hypointens area in proximal aspect of dens suggestive of sclerosis.

    Doctors says the finding are not to concern about.

    What is your opinion?

    Probably these findings are nothing to be concerned about. What you need to add to the MRI is open mouth odontoid X-ray and flexion/extension x_rays of the neck. These combined with the MRI will give truer overall findings of the anatomy and stability of these areas.

    Hello,

    Tje mri i had done was in flexion and extention. There is also ct scan done in flextion and extension and the findings are same.

    Mimimal left lateral atalato axial subluxation.

    As i explained erlier the symptoms goes away for fewer second when i push behind the jaw angle.

    I still think this is over-reading of this imaging. It is possible to have some degenerative changes of the C1-2 joint but the transverse ligament is very strong and it would be unusual for this ligament to be damaged unless you had a syndrome like Morquio’s or Down’s.

    Can you elaborate more about over-reading?you mean to say the readings are incomplete , and radiologist did not able to dignose fully.

    Do you still suggest the x rays?

    FYI i had whiplash accident with another person at the age of 13 at school.i was knoked out for almost one and half hour.i consulted doctor, and doctor said nothing to worry as i did not have noticible symptoms.after that incident i felt sometimes little weakness in left arm but igonred.
