    Hello Dr. Corenman-
First, Thank you for this forum.
My question, I had a Schwannoma intradural /extramedullary removed in 2008 (L2-L3). My symptoms have been increasing since surgery. I have muscle waste on the right side, all symptoms of Adhesive Aracnoiditis; unfortunately, I am a light weight allergic to all drugs for nerve sensation. I went outside the Yale system to Dr. Antonio Aldrete sending my MRI for a second opinion which came back AA.
My neurologist acknowledge the diagnosis, added to my chart that one visit a year ago since then all visit notes are blank (my lawyer informed me I am in the disability process). Now I have a new neurologist as the former left the health plan. She entered Schwannomatosis, Fibromyagia and possible Arachnoiditis my last visit.
I was discouraged as I have only had one Schwannoma tumor in 9 years so Schwannmatosis is a no, the rheumatologist ruled out Fibromyagia as it is an equal opportunity illness and my condition is just on the right.
I again sent my MRI out to a neuroradiogist at second options.com and again it came back AA (I was self concousious from the health plans doctors- was I crazy even though I now need a cane).
I am now being told by the Yale health plan I need to be examined along with my MRI in state(CT) for them to acknowledge AA, but will any doctor acknowledge AA? I can’t understNd physicians being hesitant I am way past legal action, my tumor had to be removed, I signed a waiver for surgery.
Right now I just want some form of treatment and acknowledgement. I realize there is no cure, but I just want to feel a little more comfortable.
Would you have any suggestions of what type of Dr. I should visit for a second opinion (which the health plan will pay for)? I don’t know where to go. Will any doctor ever acknowledge the illness. I was told by the AMA yes and no for my doctors acknowledging second opinions reports, they said the should take two isdentical reports with correlating symptoms more seriously as their oath to keep their patient a priority. I just want to feel a little better and not be looked at as a hypochondriac.
    Thanks SO much in advance,
    Mary
