So on a MRI will the disc area look like anything or will it be just a black area between the vertebrae?
in reply to: ACDF Post-operative Concerns with CT-Scan results #24494Hello,
I was wondering if someone could decipher these Assessment from a surgeon.
I do not see a good fusion across the fused segment, but there is no evidence of hardware loosening. There was no evidence of good bony formation in between the vertebral body at the site of the discectomy.
in reply to: ACDF SURGERY #22688That’s part of the reason that the health care has taken a hit. There is no accountability. The reports not only indicated a speedy surgery but also lack of performance, and adequate communication between the doctor patient. My next item to research is if there is actually a bone graft put in both areas. The Inspector General for the VA is definitely interested into looking into it. Anyway thanks again for everything I will definitely keep you posted.

I will let you know how the second procedure goes. The surgeon that will be preforming it is with the Department of Defense.
in reply to: ACDF SURGERY #22683Dr. Corenman,
I appreciate your input and I have definitely learned plenty in regards to ACDF-SURGERY. The scary thing in regards to my procedure is that the VA isn’t the medical provider for the actual surgery. They did pay for it, but didn’t preform it. The procedure was conducted by a group of Neurosurgeons in the area. The more I learn and research the more I get concerned for future patients that might have surgery. With the information I currently have as far as document’s I feel like I should at least let our state officials research this matter. I’m not trying to be a butt, but this kind of lack of care doesn’t seem like other surgeon’s would agree with. Once again I wanted to thank you for helping me navigate through a few things.
in reply to: ACDF SURGERY #22678Hello Dr. Corenman,
Once again I wanted to thank you for your insight to the questions I have presented. I was wondering especially since our last conversation about the speed of surgery if you might have a area on your website that shows a axial view of a allograft bone graft 2 months post surgery or even a CT-SCAN image of the same thing? Obviously I’m a little concerned especially when I have a surgeon that was trying to set the World record for time and it was on me. Hopefully he will remember to put my name in the books as well. I’m laughing, but not because it is funny but as a stress relief. By the way yes I’m still having symptoms like before the surgery and the next procedure will be removing the vertebrae C6. So obviously I would like to see if there is even a bone graft in each area. With your site there is so much good information. I will have to tell you one day about the complete experience. The VA only authorized a 2nd surgery because I went to my local senator. It’s been a heck of a ride and now just trying to rebuild my confidence in the medical staff. Thanks for your help.
