    Dr. Corenman,

I had the epidural today. I try to be optimistic however deep down I feel it probably will not work. I had to start to take my Percocet 3x a day now which is 5mg. If I was to forward my mri disk and medical record is it possible for you to look at it. How much would you charge to explain best treatment? I would also forward report. My care has cost me a lot out of pocket. I worry about having surgery again. Thank you.

    Hello Dr. Corenman
I had symptoms of pain both in back and bad neuropathy. The mri findings are above. My surgeon had indicated a small reherniation where my surgery was done. My surgeon has recommended an epidural and no heavy lifting. I am sorry about the post. I had typed the findings. I assume my surgeon is ordering the epidural. I still have numbness in my foot. I know you said I might have a patch. I currently take 1 and a half pills of Percocet spread throughout the day and gabapentin . Thank you for any recommendations and suggestions.

    Hello Doctor,

Thank you for responding. My doctor now recommended gabapentin 300mg 1x in morning and 600 mg at nite with 5mg of Percocet with Tylenol. 5mg/3.25. My main issue was not back pain just numbness in foot. I just started to take Percocet again. Prior to surgery which was in February I had numbness developing around I believe late November. First I had severe pain and went to hospital 6 times in 14 days for pain. There they gave me pain injection and Percocet. But was instructed to follow up with my general dr. First I started out with Percocet 5mg milligram 3x a day. But in time I had to take 10mg 3x a day for pain. Once I had xray and MRI it showed I had a 3 inch piece of disc in my spine. It had broken off. When I took the Percocet of course pain and numbness subsided until I had the surgery on February 1. My main issue was at night when I go to bed I could get well rested. My foot felt tight and sometimes I had to sleep with a sock or slipper to help me sleep. I realize that this numbness might not go away. Thank God I don’t have the pain. But at night when I go to sleep it is uncomfortable. During the day I wear slipper around the apartment and I try and walk as much as possible I wear a cushioned sandal. The brand SAS relaxed as I am able to walk and not feel the numbness as much. Do patients have permanent numbness in foot? I guess I would have to live with this symptom but it was becoming difficult at nite to sleep. I have researched what surgeons do if numbness is presented. I assume another surgery spine or foot would be right? I really appreciate all your help and opinions. I have been 7 months post surgery no pain, but numbness. Sometimes if I do extra house work I might feel discomfort but would take Tylenol. Would a MRI show nerve compression in foot? Thank you again for all your help.

Thank you for responding to me again. Can it be possible that the numbness gets worse after 7 months ? I just started to take gabapentin 300 mg 2x a days for the last two weeks. I feel this medication is not working. I hate to say it but when I took Percocet 5 or 10 mg 3x a day I had no numbness. If this numbness doesn’t go away will a pain management doctor give me like 1mg a day. I am at my wits end. I can’t zzz at night and my foot feels numbness and tightness. I really appreciate it. I think my orthopedic dr wanted me to wait a year before an emg was to be done. Thank you for all your help. Sorry to sound desperate.

    Hello Dr,.

Can you recommend anything else to determine if numbness is permanent? I take B12 5000 1x a day Turneric 1000mg 1x a day. I thought about alpha lipoic acid.
The gabapentin 300mg 2x a day I feel isn’t that great for numbness. As for weakness I don’t walk as much as I did. I want to. Would a dr up the gabapentin I am only taking 300mg 2x a day for 30 days. When I took my Percocet I didn’t have any problems of course I wouldn’t want to take that again. I had like drop foot symptoms before the surgery. My side of my foot is numb and the last three toes. Might you know how long of having these symptoms would be permanent
Thank you for all your help.
