Hello Dr Corenman. I’ve just today been to a follow up meeting with my specialist and he’s saying my C5-C6 fushion is healing well after looking on x-ray. As previously mentioned in my last messages I’m having such pain on my left side which ever way I move my head. I was trying to emphasise something may be wrong with a facet joint on a different level but on the old mri nothing has shown up. He has ordered a fresh mri which I will go for soon. He said if nothing shows on that then there’s nothing more he can do. I am not able to move my head in any direction without pain on the left side radiating into the shoulder and am worried I’ll have to live with this for ever. I don’t know what more I can do as it’s very hard pushing them as they’re so busy. Regards M k
Thank you for getting back to me. I’m going to try and push forward my review as I’m of the same belief as you that is another level. Thanks again for your time
In your expertise would a CT scan show the bone structure of the facet joint better than an mri? I’ve never had a ct and a lot of what I’ve read shows that ct can really help determine facet problems. My surgeon is so hard to get hold of I feel I’ve been left out in the cold really and I’m in so much pain. Thanks again
Thankyou for your reply. Obviously the 2 vertebrae haven’t fused together yet as im only 9 weeks but are you saying the joint is now fixed and that there is no facet joint movement? I thought as the joint becomes more soild this might limit motion further? This would then suggest as you say the offending joint is on a different level and that my surgery has fixed the arm weakness but not my main problem which is constant pain in my neck from movement.
