in reply to: PLEASE READ MY MRI #35677
Hi Dr Coreman ,
Can retrolisthesis grade 1 , as per my report cause nerve pain in my mouth or throat this MRI was in 2020
TECHNIQUE: Multiplanar, multisequence MR images of the cervical spine were acquired without intravenous contrast.
FINDINGS:
VERTEBRAL BODIES: Grade 1 retrolisthesis of C5 on C6. The alignment is otherwise maintained. Small superior
endplate Schmorl’s nodes at T1 and T2.
MARROW SIGNAL: No concerning focal marrow lesion is identified
DISCS: Multilevel disc dessication with variable loss in height.
CORD: There is mild focal prominence of the central canal at C5-C6. Otherwise, the cord is normal in morphology and
signal.
Individual levels as follows:
C2-C3: No significant spinal canal or neuroforaminal stenosis. No significant facet arthropathy.
C3-C4: No significant spinal canal or neuroforaminal stenosis. No significant facet arthropathy.
C4-C5: No significant spinal canal or neuroforaminal stenosis. No significant facet arthropathy.
C5-C6: Posterior disc osteophyte complex with a central disc protrusion and bilateral uncovertebral arthrosis resulting in
mild bilateral neuroforaminal narrowing, as well as partial effacement of the ventral CSF space. No significant facet
arthropathy.
C6-C7: No significant spinal canal or neuroforaminal stenosis. No significant facet arthropathy.
C7-T1: No significant spinal canal or neuroforaminal stenosis. No significant facet arthropathy.
OTHER: Visualized posterior fossa is normal. Soft tissues are unremarkable.
IMPRESSION:
Mild degenerative change without severe spinal canal stenosis or neuroforaminal narrowing.
Mild focal prominence of the central canal at C5-C6. Otherwise, no significant cord signal abnormality
This was my follow up January 2023
Just want to.be sure that there’s no issues from the Retrolisthesis is causing the nerve pain in my mouth on my tongue or upper pallets ..or throat inflammation or nerve pain

in reply to: Please help me understand my MRI report #33902Hi Dr Corenman , I have been excercisinh on my treadmill mill since January, I had done increments light jogging and some running intermediates, off and one lasting time for 12 minutes longest time in a workout of the running , not extremely fast just enough to get my heart rate up and done some rowing excercing on my machine that wasn’t very intense …My question is it possible it effected me doing this to cause major change in my neck where the bone spurs is . I learned my lesson I will only be walking not light jogging or running spirts anymore ..Sadly because I recently had that MRI in Dec 29 last year 4 months ago they won’t order me another MRI and because of covid I won’t be able to see a neurologist, and I am stressing out of this pain I been dealing with the past month …i can’t sleep from stressing over this …My pain is severe in my mouth throat, shooting throbbing nerve pain off and on in my head front of my head…my shoulder are throbbing tight burning as well as every other part of my body ..I don’t experience any weakness or any other physical symptoms other then severe pain …Can you tell me in your experience if the excercising changed anything in my neck this fast ….in the past 3 months …again I wasn’t running like a trainer but enough to bring up my heart rate to lose weight..Sorry for bothering you again hun…But greatly appreciated your expertise and time …again Happy Easter ????

in reply to: Please help me understand my MRI report #33891Hi Dr Coreman ,Happy Easter , I had an updated MRI , just wondering if you can provide me some other clarification about this report please and thank you… I am a female 57 years of age , is this report common /normal wear and tear for my age , is it really bad ?
My questions are as follows :
#1 …I also read Retrothesis is not common , so do that mean its really bad to have this condition ?
#2…My report also states neuroforaminal narrowing is that considered stenosis ?
#3..Do the Grade 1 Retrolisthesis on my C5 C6, cause any symptoms in my throat /or mouth
#4 ..Can I feel symptoms one sided of my neck mostly on my left side of my neck feels like if I lie down on my side feel like it compresses the nerves from anything in my report
#5..lower back of my head at times feels strain
#6…my face feels tight as well my jaw, chin as well as forehead has this anything to do with what’s going on in my neck
#7..Feeling stomach issues, I read that strengthen the muscle core helps this condition? not sure what the correlation with stomach and neck or if that is mostly required if it was a back Retrolisthesis
#8 ..What would of caused this in my neck for the Retrolisthesis in my neck ? How fast can it progress ? Is it curable?
#9…also I read that it can effect the legs , buttocks , shoulders ? what other areas of my body can be effected ?
#10..Is there anything is this report effect the symptoms I am dealing with severe pain in my mouth, throat , head , face teeth , eyes , or any lower parts of my body ? …
#11..Do I have any impingement , as it mentioned I have a disc protrusion ?
#11..Do any of these symptoms correlate with partial effacement of the Ventral CSF Space , do that mean its inside the CSF in between ?
#12.. I have stiffness in my shoulders/biceps/ my shoulder blades is off and on
#13..I have severe pain in side my head …burning, nerve pain pressure is this from anything in my report
I had MRI of my head ..its unremarkable NO Trigeminal issues in my MRI
The only Medical issues have been d/x was I have gallbladder issues , gallstones where as I get attacks from that issue
