in reply to: Nerve Blocks Efficacy #11314
I should add that with one of the nerve blocks, my tinnitus stopped for an hour or so.
Thanks again.
in reply to: Nerve Blocks Efficacy #11313I certainly still had symptoms. My thought is that with more than one area affected that there would not be significant relief? Correct? But I should have still felt some numbing, right? With all the symptoms, I didn’t notice the relief and certainly didn’t notice any numbing.
Do cervical blocks sometimes just not work?
Yes, when he said “cleaning it out” it made me nervous…but he is supposed to be a very well known neurosurgeon. Maybe, I need to get my courage up and talk to him. He is very confident when he speaks and it is hard to question him.
Thank you so much for such a quick response. I hope I am not emailing you another five years from now!

in reply to: Possible C3 complication #5899Hi Dr. Corenman,
Dr. Karli and his nurse were very nice. However, after looking over a 2 page summary, Dr. Karli felt there was no more he could do. So I guess I won’t be coming. Thank you for your unselfish help. If I ever find out what’s wrong or get better or significantly worse, I’ll let you know.

in reply to: Possible C3 complication #5865Hi Dr. Corenman,
Update
Possible office visitI’ve had three nerve blocks:
5/2011: bilateral greater occipital nerve injection (no effect)
6/2011: C2/C3 cervical medial branch injection AND Left occipital nerve included (no effect)
11/2011: C3 cervical selective nerve root injection (eliminated tinnitus for two hours; no other effect)Wouldn’t the second block diagnose facet problems?
I’ve had so many medications (have just started GABA) and undergone so many manipulative therapies. It may be no use to ask for an appointment from you. However, I called Diana Match and am waiting for a call back. I’ll be in town from the afternoon of May 28 until the morning of June 4th. Let me know if you want to see me.

in reply to: Possible C3 complication #5690Just a very quick question,
The chiropractor, whom I no longer see, did a set of X-rays that he sent to a chiropractic radiology center. They saw facet deterioration from an old sports injury in the lowest lumbar spine, but did not comment on any in my neck. You’ve suspected C2/C3 facet problems. Is it possible that these would not show up on the X-ray?
Thanks.
J.D.
in reply to: Possible C3 complication #5685Thank you as always. I’m not resistant to any treatment, actually. But I’m trying to listen to the doctor…and you too. I’ll mention “somatization” next time I see him. He is not resistant either to ideas, but he tends to go one step at a time.
With appreciation,
JD.
